Armadale Post Office
Heritage Refurbishment

Blending the old and the new to create a functional heritage building.

The $1.3m refurbishment required skilled hands to maintain the integrity of this 115-year-old building. It is considered so valuable to the area’s history that after Australia Post moved their branch to modern premises, it was bought by the WA State Government and refurbished as part of plans to develop the area into a residential precinct.

The building still contained some of the original post office and residence fabric dating from 1898 so these needed to be carefully preserved and the remaining features updated to create an aesthetically pleasing design that suits the building’s history but also provides modern features for practical use.
