This $4.9m heritage-listed project took considerable craftsmanship and expertise to complete to the client’s standards. Great care was needed to skilfully preserve the building’s character while applying the best modern techniques to produce a refurbishment that is as long-lasting as it is a delight to the eye.
Working on a site so damaged by fire brought unique challenges. The client, The Carnegie Group, wanted to preserve as much of the original jarrah staircase, archways, fireplace, architraves and mouldings so our team’s depth of knowledge and skills in refurbishing heritage buildings were heavily relied on.
We successfully met all the strict codes and guidelines required, created the significant structural work to fulfill the brief, and completed both stages on time, on budget in a very tight site with a minimal laydown area and with minimal variations to the client.
